Indoor Air Quality

Office

Airscan provides air quality solutions for low carbon healthy buildings.

We’ll provide you with tangible results.

Pollutants generated indoors can have a significant impact on our health. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs), combustion byproducts, and airborne particulate matter can trigger nausea, headaches, asthma, respiratory irritation, and allergies. While outdoor air is generally better quality, natural ventilation methods, opened windows and doors can lead to poor indoor air quality. It's crucial to prioritise good air quality in indoor spaces to ensure the health and well-being of everyone inside.

UK's Path to Net Zero Emissions

Building a Sustainable Future

Heating and powering buildings currently accounts for 40% of the UK’s total energy usage and the UK government has set in law a target to bring its greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050 – one of the most ambitious targets in the world.

Airscan's real-time data can help you achieve your net zero goals!

Sensors Available

Pick and choose from our range of Airscan sensors:

Airscan devices come as powered units (240v, 110v, 12v) or can be battery operated.

WELL Building Standard (WELLv2)

This performance-based system assesses and promotes factors like air quality, lighting, water quality, nutrition, and fitness to create healthier and more comfortable indoor environments. WELL certification provides a framework for designing and operating buildings that prioritize the physical and mental well-being of their occupants.

Airscan's commercial indoor air quality monitors measure PM2.5, PM10, TVOCs, CO2, temperature, and relative humidity every minute with high accuracy and resolution. Continuous monitoring allows you to gain a holistic view of your indoor air quality, empowering you to make data-driven decisions to improve your environment in the long run.

In WELL v2 certification, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is paramount. 'Air' is the first among the ten key concepts, comprising of 4 preconditions and 10 optimization options, which together offer a total of 18 points. Ensuring good IAQ can go a long way in improving the health and productivity of building occupants.

Airscan’s Indoor air quality monitoring can help you secure the preconditions A01, A03, and T01, as well as earn valuable project points through A05A06, A08, T06, and T07.

BREEAM

The aim of BREEAM is to recognise and encourage healthy indoor environments through specification of ventilation equipment and construction materials. Indoor air quality assessments can help to determine the most appropriate solutions for each buildings unique needs. Testing for Formaldehyde, VOCs, CO2, CO, SO2, NO2 and particulates are all key to demonstrate compliance. Thermal comfort (temperature and humidity) and lighting are all assessed.

Fitwel

Like WELL, Fitwel rewards and verifies healthy building practices. The standard was developed by the General Services Administration (GSA) and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); Fitwel scope includes commercial and residential buildings.

Fitwel’s Indoor Air Quality Policy establishes standards for maintaining optimal air quality within a building after construction and during occupancy. This includes minimising gasses and noxious odours, selecting appropriate products and facilitating the assessment and treatment of air quality issues. The project must comply with air quality testing of a minimum of five required pollutants: PM2.5, TVOC, CO2, CO, Formaldehyde, and Relative Humidity.
